We tried to reach for the stars when we developed a model to experiment with new materials to reduce weight and with cut pattern to aim for a perfect fit for many foot types. The GRAF Galaxy became the cutting-edge of skate technology and many of the then experimental changes are now applied to many models in the GRAF collection. The very light and durable PU-laminated Microfiber upper material "CP93", first used in the Galaxy, is now used as the primary upper material many GRAF Figure skate models. The improved fitting-system is based on a lower instep, the Flex Notch and other details unique to GRAF Figure. We first trialled the "Ortho-Form Compound" Technology in the GRAF Galaxy. It differs from the traditional padding contruction with a 3D-pressed anatomical foam piece adapted to foot size and a comfortable breathable perforated microfiber lining. Our five-piece Flex contour tongue features high comfort padding and a pleasant feeling microfiber lining. The middle strip of the tongue is made out of an extra flexible material to allow an easier flex with less force and distributes lace pressure evenly over the midfoot and anterior ankle. With the GRAF UltraLight outsole the Galaxy is a very stable and torsion-resistant skate boot. GRAF's cutting edge development of the Galaxy led to the slogan, "Step in and skate" because there is very little break-in phase.
